(San Francisco, CA May 21, 2012) Lumenetix, Inc’s araya™, a LED light engine with Color Tuning Module and Light Commissioning Tool has been awarded the Innovation Award for LED Light Engines at LightFair® International (LFI) 2012, the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference.

“We are very grateful for this award. I think the Master of Ceremonies captured the essence of our work when he described color tuning as a clear indication of the direction of the LED lighting industry,” said Jim Kingman, President and CEO.

Judged by an independent panel of renowned lighting professionals, the LFI Innovation Award was given to the LED light engine manufacturer Lumenetix for the LED/OLED Chips, modules / light engines, plasma and OEM subassembly category. Finalists included, among others, three entries from Cree Inc., Nichia, Philips, and Ushio America Inc.

The Araya LED light engine replicates natural white light, from the warm light of sunrise and sunset to the cool light of the afternoon sun. The color tuning LED modules (CTM) feature 12, 19 and 32 mm sources powered by 10 or 14 LEDs. The araya Light Commissioning Tool (LCT) wirelessly dims and tunes the CTM from 2700-6000K along the Planckian curve at very high CRI. Illustrative of the high quality, natural white light produced by araya, the CTM 019 features delta UV of ±0.001 and Ra values of 91-95 and R9 values of 92 - 98 throughout the tunable range*.

“We are incredibly excited about this award and overwhelmed by the reception”, says Jeffrey Saake, EVP, “We believe color tuning will become as ubiquitous as dimming is today. Stay tuned as we announce new LED light products that target additional markets and applications.”
